Laser treatment
- Before the laser tattoo removal session, our technician will provide you with some instructions to prepare for the procedure. This may include avoiding direct sunlight, tanning beds, and certain medications that can increase the risk of complications or interfere with the laser's effectiveness.
- On the day of the treatment, the tattooed area will be cleaned, and protective eyewear will be provided to shield your eyes from the laser. Numbing cream or local anesthesia may be applied to minimize discomfort, particularly for larger tattoos or more sensitive areas.
- The laser emits high-intensity light in short pulses that selectively target the tattoo ink pigments. The laser energy passes through the outer layers of the skin and gets absorbed by the ink particles. This process causes the ink particles to break down into smaller fragments.
- After the laser treatment, the treated area may appear red, swollen, or blistered. The technician will provide specific aftercare instructions, which typically include keeping the area clean, applying antibiotic ointment or a healing cream, and avoiding sun exposure. You may be advised to wear a protective dressing or bandage for a few days.
- Complete tattoo removal usually requires multiple laser sessions, spaced several weeks apart. The number of sessions needed depends on various factors, including the size, colors, and depth of the tattoo. During each session, the laser targets different layers of ink, gradually fading the tattoo.
Surgical extraction

- The skin is numbed with a local anesthetic injection for surgical removal. A scalpel is used to remove the tattoo, and the skin edges are sewn back together. Following the surgery, antimicrobial ointment is recommended that promotes healing.

Dermabrasion
- The tattooed area is often cooled until numb during dermabrasion. The tattooed skin is then sanded to deeper depths with high-speed rotary equipment equipped with an abrasive wheel or brush. This permits the tattoo ink to be absorbed by the skin.
- For several days following the treatment, the affected area feels uncomfortable and rough. Recovery time can range from two to three weeks. Dermabrasion isn't a popular treatment option since it produces inconsistent results and is less effective than a laser or a combination of laser and excision.
