Vaser liposuction procedure or liposuction of upper arms procedure
The procedure is done at dezire clinic as a day care procedure. In most cases it is done under local anesthesia with sedation or under general anesthesia if it is combined with other body parts liposuction. First your concerned areas are marked and shown to you. A small incision is made in the hidden area behind the elbow and tumescent fluid is injected into the targeted area which helps to firm and separate fat from the surrounding tissue. After this, a VASER probe is inserted to emit ultrasound pulses that liquefying the fat ready for extraction. With a hollow cannula and with help of high negative pressure fat contents are removed from the arm. Due to long cannulas many areas can be emptied using a small puncture.
The technique minimises disruption to nerves and surrounding tissue which, in turn, limits bruising and swelling.
Afterwards you will be given full aftercare instructions and compression garments, with checkups to monitor your progress and someone will always be there to answer any of your questions. You need to take off from your work for 2 to 3 days as during this period there is some swelling, discomfort, bruises for which we prescribe some medication for faster recovery. For final results it will take around 3 weeks. You will be required to wear the compression garment somewhere between 3-4 weeks.
Some common side effects after arms liposuction include
- Temporary swelling, bruising and soreness around the treated area.
- Minor scarring around areas where cannulas were inserted.
- Skin will stay baggy for a few months. It retracts and tightens after a few months.
